e-conomic appoints new UK Managing Director

4th August 2009: e-conomic has announced the appointment of company co-founder Anders Bjørnsbo to UK Managing Director.

Anders comments: “There has been so much unfounded speculation in the press that the UK is downscaling its sales effort, or indeed that we are pulling out of the UK market. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our targets and predicted sales from the UK and Europe are the same as those set earlier this year and we remain committed to the UK market.”

The announcement follows the departure of Mark Davies, who was the UK Country Manager from 2007 when the company launched in the UK. Both Anders Bjørnsbo and Jacob Wandt, the two co-founders of e-conomic International, moved to the UK last year to focus on this vital potential high growth market.
Anders comments: “Mark established e-conomic as a leading provider in the UK market and, thanks to his efforts, we have a strong platform to build upon including strategic relationships with some of the UK’s largest accounting practices. We are sorry to lose him and wish him the very best in his future ventures.
“The characteristics of the UK market have changed considerably since our launch here and we feel the UK operation would benefit from closer attention and hands-on management from the board. Our customers should rest assured that they will continue to receive excellent service under the UK operation’s new leadership.”
e-conomic has grown at a phenomenal rate across Europe since it was launched eight years ago and 2009 looks set to be another year of good growth.

Anders continues: “Yes, we have made efficiencies globally, but these savings have been reinvested into the future of the company. We have set ourselves the ambitious target of reaching 100,000 companies using e-conomic by the end of 2011. In order to achieve this, we must keep ahead of the game ensuring that not only is e-conomic aggressively priced, but also our product offers better user-interface (UI) and deeper functionality than our competitors – no other online accounting system offers the same amount of basic functionality plus the level of expandability we provide through add-on modules, and we have plans to introduce a new level of UI next year across all our operations.”
